Risp, a young jedi of about 14, was practicing lightsaber combat. Or waiting for someone to practice with. The green blade rose and fell over and over as he pressed the button repeatedly.

Lukan, a padowan of only seventeen, strode out of the Jedi Temple. He saw Risp and smiled, walking over. Hey, silly! That isn't a toy! He laughed. They were on an empty dock, overlooking the city-planet of Coruscant. Looking for someone to spar with?

Risp turned the sword off and clipped it to his belt. "I've been waiting in here for over two hours and no one seemed to be coming. What are you doing?"

Yeah. Practically everyone went with them for audience. Risp sighed and looked toward the direction of the senate building. Wanna spar with me?

Sure! He drew his lightsaber. He'd been aching to spar with someone for weeks. He grinned. But I won't go easy on you!

Neither will I! Risp ignited his lightsaber in sync with Lukan's. He turned a knob on the hilt to stun, not kill. He twirled his saber and struck his shoulder.

Lukan ducked away from the blow, merely grazed. He blocked Risp's saber with his own, sending sparks into Risp's face, then struck at Risp's legs.

Risp jumped to avoid the swipe at his feet. He responded with a lunge for his midsection.

Lukan lurched away under the blow, quivering from the shock. He grinned, unfazed, and lunged again, aiming for Risp's torso, but swung up at the last second, at his head.

Risp spun to deflect the strike and countered with a quick slash. He smiled slightly as his blade approached Lukan's exposed thigh.
